Qualifications/Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Banking, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- 2–4 years’ experience in trade finance, banking operations or international banking.
- Basic knowledge of trade finance instruments and international trade processes.
- IOBZ qualification or progress toward certification is an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of trade finance instruments including letters of credit, guarantees and documentary collections.
- Understanding of ICC trade rules such as UCP 600.
- Knowledge of exchange control regulations and cross-border payment processes.
- Basic proficiency in SWIFT messaging and trade finance systems.
- Ability to review and verify trade documentation accurately.
- Strong administrative and transaction processing skills.
Key Result Areas
- Process trade finance transactions including letters of credit, bank guarantees and documentary collections.
- Review trade documentation such as invoices, bills of lading and shipping documents for completeness and compliance.
- Ensure transactions comply with exchange control regulations, international trade rules and internal bank policies.
- Capture and process trade finance transactions accurately in the Bank’s systems.
- Liaise with internal departments including operations, treasury and compliance to ensure smooth processing of transactions.
- Assist clients with trade finance documentation requirements and respond to general trade finance queries.
- Monitor outstanding transactions and ensure timely settlement and follow-ups where required.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all trade finance transactions.
- Support the International Banking team in maintaining relationships with corporate clients and correspondent banks.
